The international teaching staff of the Institute is headed by chef Maki Stevenson. Maki received her chef diploma from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York and has 10 years of teaching experience. After moving to Hungary, she launched her own cooking school, Makifood, in 2007. Maki Stevenson was honoured by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan as Goodwill Ambassador for Japanese Cuisine in 2017. 

She has been supported in her work by an international chef team for 10 years now.


Our Culinary Arts course, offered for adults, will help you learn to prepare and serve health-conscious, tasty dishes of high quality over the course of one year. You will also learn gastro-marketing on the side, and could become ready to start your own business.

what will you learn?

The course will give you insight into both the theory and practice of professional cooking. You will learn various basic techniques of cooking, frying, roasting and baking, and will be able to use them with confidence.

CIE is located in an exclusive venue in the downtown of Budapest with excellent transport facilities. The building itself is a greenhouse using renewable energy sources.

The campus is equipped with a professional kitchen, a state-of-the-art meeting room and a cocktail terrace.
